Our Lead Pastor
Biblically, the Pastor is an elder who has a specific emphasis on teaching, vision, and the overall leadership of the church. While all elders share in shepherding and spiritual oversight, the Pastor is set apart to labor in preaching and teaching, equipping the church through the ministry of the Word and prayer. This role carries a unique calling and weighty responsibility, requiring preparation, devotion, and accountability. Yet, the Pastor holds no greater status than any other believer—he is simply a servant entrusted with leading the church in faithfulness to Christ.
Rev. Keon L. Abner
Keon Lashon Abner serves as our Lead Pastor and is committed to biblically faithful preaching, shepherding our congregation, and leading with vision and care. With a deep love for God’s Word and a heart for discipleship, he equips our church to grow in faith, engage in Christ-centered community, and serve our city with compassion and justice. He is passionate about seeing the gospel shape every aspect of life and ministry, ensuring that Bridge City Church remains rooted in sound doctrine and mission. In addition to pastoring, he serves as the Regional Church Planting Director for the EPC Northeast, supporting new church plants across our region. Beyond ministry, Pastor Keon is a devoted husband to Ashley and a loving father to Kailyn, Ashytn and Brooklyn.
